As of 2/26, I've updated the game with a few more details and features!

Thanks for checking out my 2023 Dependable Friend game jam project, LYDIAN. You might notice that the game uses characters and history from another project of mine! :)

I've taken advantage of this game jam to get familiar with plug-ins I've been interested in, and to recreate the RPG Maker 2003 atmosphere in the more modern RPG Maker MZ. You'll notice familiarities to the old engine in the graphical style, and I enjoyed replicating the textboxes from my 2k3 game DELUGE, but with much more ease. What I've learned about the capabilities of MZ and its functionality is super helpful as I continue plugging away at GENTLE, my second full-length project.

My hope with the project was a bustling, life-filled city that you could interact with and learn from, but starting a new job and a couple of other activities kept my character development to a minimum. Toward the end of the week, I opted with a little exploratory experience in the maps I had designed. Huge thank you to Sidewinder91 for the RTP tile set modifications, which I first noticed in his excellent RPG Maker 2003 game, Dirge of Doningoth. I initially started with a recreation of a few of the maps from that game, until I start expanding the entire thing.

I'll continue to update this game, and hopefully add more content, but I hope you enjoy checking this project out as it stands!
