v.0.2 - Initial build(s) of Recovery.dog released


Hi all - thanks for checking out my latest project! This game was developed for the Spooky Surprises Game Jam, an event which I hosted from October 20 - 27. For the event, I partnered with an artist and game developer Moss Salamander, to create game that was a blend of each our strengths. After some deliberation and a long week of development, Recovery.dog is the result!

For this month's event, I spent the week learning and experimenting with MZ3D! It is an incredible RPG Maker plug-in to design in 3D, created by previous riggyjam participant Cutievirus! Having seen her work, as well as a , inspired me to give it a shot. Pairing the tool with my love of both Moss's style and Paper Mario, this was the result -- a short, silly, off-putting adventure game about a TV Dog!

What's next: There is still a ton of missing content, bugs, and unused material to fill out the game, so I'd like to spend the next few weeks tinkering with the game to get it juuuust right. While working, I saw how the scope began to grow larger and larger as the ideas were flowing. It was awesome, but my hope is to keep the game contained and not to expand much more than what you see. I do intend to enhance as much as possible, and include lots of new outcomes for different decisions. Stay tuned for that!

For the posterity of the Game Jam, the "jam submission" build of the game is also available to download.
